Interventions Alliance to host Charity Football Tournament

Events Key insight 28 June 2022

Interventions Alliance is hosting a charity football tournament at Maidstone United Football Club on Thursday 30th June.

They are bringing together eight teams made up of staff from Intervention Alliance and Seetec as well as participants that are currently enrolled in one of the Co-Financing Organisation (CFO) Activity Hubs. The teams will be made up of people from across the country, from Liverpool through to Sussex.

Our CFO Activity Hubs provide a safe and supportive space where participants can and, most importantly, want to engage. The programme, funded through the European Social Fund, is delivered in a warm, welcoming, and enabling environment, that offers tailored support for participants who, due to their multiple or complex barriers are unable to access or fully benefit from mainstream services. The services we offer address barriers to work and equip individuals with the necessary skills they need to stop offending, so they can successfully reintegrate into their local communities.

The football tournament aims to promote inclusivity for all, no matter your age, background, current circumstances, ability and experience. The charities we’ve chosen to support and raise money for are Aurora New Dawn and Dandelion Time.

Aurora New Dawn work directly with victims of domestic abuse, sexual violence, and stalking, and are based in Hampshire. Dandelion Time work to support and help children aged six to thirteen with complex emotional issues that have arisen due to some type of trauma. By focusing on the family unit, they create opportunities for new beginnings and improved relationships using nature as a central part of the therapeutic process.

An award ceremony and charity raffle will be held for those that have played and taken part in the day. Intervention Alliance have numerous partners who are supporting the event. Our partners Activate, who are providing match balls and refereeing throughout the day and the Education, Training & Employment and Commissioned Rehabilitative Services (ETE CRS) Team who will be supporting our participants with employment brokerage.

Good luck to everyone taking part on the day. May the best team win!
